For Get Pushed, Jackie asked me "... to recreate an iconic photograph of a woman". The first image to come to my mind is that of Steve McCurry's haunting "Afghan Girl" http://photography.nationalgeographic.com/wallpaper/photography/photos/milestones-photography/afghan-girl-portrait/
I originally thought of using a scarf so as to closely replicate his iconic image, but then thought it would better to take my own spin with similar colours and (sort of) similar pose. Directing a four-year old is not easy!
@jackies365 ~ Critique welcome. There is a big part of me in this pic (being my daughter!) I thought of trying to be the subject, but don't have the eyes or youth to even come close to pulling it off...
I love it! The geographic spin on it is awesome! Your daughter's eyes are beautifully haunting like the original! BTW have you seen the original girl in the grown up photo? You certainly could pull off a slightly older version! Fav!
