I love sunflowers and happily discovered this field of short sunflowers... I learned that there are many many different types of sunflowers and some are giant ones that are 12-14 feet tall. These were only about about 2-4 feet tall and most had their heads facing down towards the ground... that happens when the flower has completely bloomed and is heavy with seeds. They droop down so they can drop their seeds to the ground.
