Gravesite Along Old Ore Road by kvphoto

Gravesite Along Old Ore Road

We stopped to view a single gravesite beside Old Ore Road at Big Bend National Park. It is said that Juan de Leon was murdered and left for dead beside the road. The body was not found for several days and de Leon was buried where he fell. The murder was never solved and remains a mystery to this day. The grave is adorned with coins and paper money as symbols of respect.
Amazing capture and story, so typical wild west as in the movies.

Great photo of this subject. You can feel the vastness of the surroundings because of your point view and understand why this poor soul was not found for so long.
