American Robin by kvphoto

American Robin

The American Robin is a very common bird but not so commonly seen in our backyard. This one posed for me and allowed me to shoot numerous photos. It was below freezing (27F) and windy and this bird has feathers fluffed to trap air to insulate and keep warm.
A gorgeous image with his fluffed feathers - it is wonderful that air can insulate so well...

What a puffed up floof! Great capture. My uncle and cousin in Atlanta are complaining bitterly about the temps.

BEAUTIFUL shot of this Robin! Great depth of color and clarity. I actually heard one before I saw him last week high up in a tree. WAY too early to be back in Iowa...it was -15 night before last. They don't usually return until March.
