I planted this Japanese red maple in our backyard in memory of my dad who passed away in the Spring of 2010. Throughout the spring and summer the leaves are very dark red... almost purple. In the fall the leaves turn a brighter shade of red and when backlit the tree is so full of life.
We've had a cold snap and some strong winds that are blowing the leaves off of the trees quickly. I wanted to get a few photos today before the leaves are gone until they return in the spring with new growth.
