2014 05 25 Shark Spotting

A drive around the coast today. It wasn't the best of days, weather-wise, but I was trying out a 20mm lens. I don't think I quite understand it yet!

The black shark-spotters' flag means that conditions are too murky for anything to be seen. Compare my shot from the same area from two years ago - http://365project.org/kwiksilver/365/2012-04-27 - I think I should go back to using my p&s or else just use the auto settings on the 600D.

It isn't the camera but the hazy day that makes the difference. I really like the composition of this one. It looks like a picture for an adventure story!

This looks like a great hide-away! Love how worn the flag is too.

Lovely shot; I agree that the hazy air makes the difference, not your settings. Pity that the edge of the roof of the little cabin is cut off...I would suggest that you crop a bit more from the lefts side to cut out the thin strip of sea which is visible to the left of the cabin.

Definitely seems more of a haze than your camera! Like Eric, I think a slight crop of the left side will enhance the picture. The condition of that flag goes to show the amount of wind it has to endure!

I rather like the way the haze allows the greens in the foreground to pop out - very atmospheric. Looks like a pirate hideaway!

@ericdibosco @salza Thank you both for your comments - can't believe that I left that tiny strip of sea in my shot! But corrected now in Picmonkey! Thanks!
