My son has been asking to go through his "to keep" box recently. I finally relented and opened the time capsule filled with his first clothes, toys and special momentos that I thought were worth keeping. Within was his first friend, "Teddy!" He received Teddy at a baby shower when he was days old. Several years ago we put him away as he was getting worn thin and Gage was getting old enough to sleep without his buddy. Gage was thrilled to see his old friend and gave him a big hug. They spent some time chilling on the grass. I thought the shot fit with the human connection theme of the week as well.
This is absolutely precious! I love that he still has a special connection with Teddy. I'm an adult and have fond connections with a few stuffed animals from my childhood. Such a quintessential childhood memory. Fav!
I swear that I'm too old to be PMS'ing but this made my eyes water! I have a son who's 26 but I can close my eyes and see him as a young squirt hugging on his favorite stuffed animals! I LOVE THIS! Ok, now where's my Kleenex!!!!!
Love this shot - such a tender moment captured perfectly... particularly as teddy is looking our way! Reminds me of my son who is 16 and still has his bear in his room (up on a shelf though) :)
Darling and beautiful photo. I had something similar happen recently when I opened up my box of childhood keepsakes, and my son ended up becoming very attached to my old teddy bear. Of course, I documented it in my project - http://365project.org/lindenswhite/365/2012-06-03. Love these types of moments...
