Almost Home by kwind

Almost Home

The kids and I spent 3 frustrating hours building these chairs today! They were on sale but I swear I would have paid double if they came assembled!! The house is coming along.... SLOWLY! I now have four workable toilets and numerous sinks. No hot water though as the boiler man is working in Alberta and won't be back for two weeks. All my cabinet boxes and countertops are in and would lovely IF I had doors but the cabinet man has gone back to his "other" job and won't be finishing the job for three weeks. Oh, so frustrating!!! On the positive side, the painter is set to start painting tomorrow and says he'll be done in ten days. I've got the carpet, closet organizers, mirrors and final electrical all arranged to start the moment he's done. We have rented our current house so we have to move out by September 1st.
3 hours well spent! This is a great shot!

Lovely. sounds like it is all coming together, but I can imagine you are on tenderhooks as the time frame narrows
August 2nd, 2013
Oh, but think of the memories every time you sit in those damn chairs! Love the shot.
August 2nd, 2013
Brilliant composition. Well worth the assembly if that's the view you get to enjoy every time you sit down.
August 2nd, 2013
This is gorgeous! Love the view of the symmetry of the chairs.
August 2nd, 2013

Lovely chair against that pretty sky. Great shot and worth the 3 hours for the photo alone!
August 2nd, 2013
I can see the chairs getting plenty of use with views like this ~ it all sounds so exciting almost being done, but also so frustrating having to wait those few extra weeks ~ fingers crossed you can move in with it completed ~ I have loved watching he progress ~ fascinating
August 2nd, 2013
Lovely silhouettes ! I love your chairs !
I wish you a lot of patience and courage for the rest of your works, in 3 weeks almost everything will be behind you !
Bon courage and take advantage of your chairs to relax a little bit between 2 cardboard boxes !
August 2nd, 2013
I would become a woman obsessed with one of those chairs at the water's edge. The work will be worth it when you do a series of shots with a single chair as the subject in the water, in the sand....etc.
August 2nd, 2013
I love those chairs and the little tables in between, I can imagine you will sit and watch this view for hours,
August 2nd, 2013
Oh sorry to hear there's been obsticles but it sounds the house is finishing little by little and what a house it's going to be! I like this shot, the chairs there against that wonderfl sky
August 2nd, 2013
Ah.....what a view. Looking back, all of the frustration will be well worth it as you relax in those chairs.
August 2nd, 2013
Great shot and what a stunning place. Three hours is a long time indeed, enjoy the chairs!
August 2nd, 2013
Hehe! You will look back on these few weeks & laugh...one day in the future not yet obviously :)

August 3rd, 2013
Beautiful shot!
August 3rd, 2013
Great shot! Love those kinds of chairs! Would like to get some but the thought of assembling them makes me decide not to. Still have an Ikea cabinet to tackle first!
August 3rd, 2013
This would be my favorite spot if it was me moving in.
August 3rd, 2013
Gorgeous composition! I agree with @northy , this would look amazing as a wall print :)
August 3rd, 2013
@northy @pocketmouse I like the wall print idea but I think I'll wait and set up the tripod and get all four of us in it. As I was taking the shot, I had that thought. I also envisioned a cruise ship passing by as we watched.
August 3rd, 2013
Fabulous view!! Love the photo & love your idea for the tripod to get all four of you in the shot. We'll look forward to seeing it!
August 3rd, 2013
I am so so looking forward to seeing the completed house.
