Supermoon

Supermoon shot taken last night. Too bad there wasn't a cruise ship or bird in the scene. I find moon shots so incredibly frustrating and difficult. I've done lots of reading and follow the instructions but it never comes out very clear.

Good shooting Kim. As I find with my D800 the shutter speed is key to sharpness...your 500mm focal length would need a slightly faster shutter speed but then I'm sure there are experts out there who can clarify things

Great detail in the moon itself and I love the subtle blue tones in this image as well! The moon isn't easy to shoot...I was out there trying last night too but not much success. Street lights, cars.. I gave finally gave up.

I love the soft focus of this shot. I have only just figured out how to do moon shots and I think I had the ISO set at 100 and a faster shutter speed.
