Second Cousins by kwind

Second Cousins

This is not a great shot... it was taken in a poorly lit basement during our family gathering yesterday at my aunt's house but I have to include it to document these two boys. My son is on the left. He is 11 years old and an average 4 foot 9.5 inches tall. My cousin's son is standing beside him at an impressive 6 feet 2 inches. He is only 13 months older.
Holy moly...he is TALL!! We had some friends like that with HUGE kids. Mine are shrimpy:).

Goodness he is a tall boy and got a lot more growing to do yet...
January 12th, 2015
Wow, the cousin is super tall for his age.
January 12th, 2015
Great comparison! Wow!
January 12th, 2015
cute shot
January 12th, 2015
They certainly have very similar characteristics ( except height.)
January 12th, 2015
They look like they are enjoying being in each other's company!
January 12th, 2015
Cute shot.
January 12th, 2015
Whoa....basketball? Right?
January 12th, 2015
This is great. Leaness obviously is a family feature

Sure makes you wonder doesn't it, how the same family can be so different? Both of my parents were extra short...mom was 4' 11" and my Dad was 5' 2" tall, both sides of the family on the short side, then I have one brother that is 6 foot and I made 5' 5", which is tall in our family. My other two brothers are both 5' 7"!! LOL Fun to see anyway and what a difference a year can make!! FAV!
January 12th, 2015
Wow, so tall! But then again, my son did the big growth spurt thing at 12.
January 12th, 2015
Oh goodness - in the same family this happens! I hope the tall guy is not affected - its not easy looking down at everyone!
January 12th, 2015
Still is a great moment to capture and they are happy.
January 12th, 2015
Wow!!! Really interesting comparison of these good-looking young men!!! Great shot!!!
January 12th, 2015
Great documentation.
January 12th, 2015
Great capture!

What a great difference in height! Sydney (age 12) has historically been a foot over her peers but now at 12 they seem to be catching up. The 12 yo here would certainly be taller then her. She would enjoy that very much. She is 5'7". And I think she is going to have a growth spurt soon...
Great photo, I may try this with one of Sydney's friends. :)

@kt8ird PS She just turned 12 in December. :)
January 12th, 2015
Nice to record these moments
January 12th, 2015
Awesome portrait
January 12th, 2015
Don't worry, he'll catch up! Lovely shot of these handsome lads!
January 12th, 2015
Everyone's growth spurt is different. Great documentation!!
January 12th, 2015
Wow, that is one tall boy!! I wonder if he still has a lot of growth vertically.... they had better get him to a basketball court soon! Oh, and another wonderful picture.....I feel like I really know your family!!
January 12th, 2015
Wow he sure is tall. My nickname at primary was lanky as I stood head and shoulders over everyone else, but I stopped earlier and they all scooted past me. The only growing I did was outward! It's interesting to see bys in the 11 - 14 age group at school as there are great variances in their heights. These, with some exceptions, are less noticeable as they grow older.
January 12th, 2015
Golly, and I thought I had a tall family! Great shot for future reference.
January 12th, 2015
Gosh! 6'2" at age 12?! I guess he'll slow down ... I hope so. But, a chap can never be too tall! My son was always very short, until he turned 16 when he started growing ... at 19, he's now over 6 foot tall!
January 12th, 2015
Wow, at least they are both smiling about it and having fun. I hope he doesn't get teased about being so tall.
January 12th, 2015
Two happy faces.
January 12th, 2015
Wow! he is so tall... love their smiles :D
January 12th, 2015
Wowsers, that is so tall for a 12 year old... maybe he will be a basketballer?
January 12th, 2015
Time to sign your cousin's son up for a basketball scholarship if he keeps this up. I like the vintage look to your shot.
January 12th, 2015
Cute photo.
January 12th, 2015
How tall for a 12 year old, impressive but fab shot!
January 12th, 2015
Love this
January 12th, 2015
A wonderful Portrait, our Granddaughter's 12 years and not far off six feet tall.
January 12th, 2015
wow what a difference in heigth ;)
January 12th, 2015
Wow, he is tall. Great shot to document their growth difference at this time of their lives. I would imagine it will close up once they are both older, but still 6' 2" at 12...wow!
January 12th, 2015
That is a huge difference - that is a great height for a 12 year old
January 12th, 2015
Great contrast, definitely one for the family album.
January 12th, 2015
A big contrast! But you might find he has done all his growing early and might not get much taller, hopefully .
January 12th, 2015
But it's a great way to document a special moment. :)
January 12th, 2015
wow!
January 12th, 2015
What an amazing difference... just give your son 13 more months ;-)
January 12th, 2015
wow! They are both tall, you must be very proud
January 12th, 2015
Amazing height difference!
January 12th, 2015
Great and funny shot of those handsome boys. Great and nice framing to.
January 12th, 2015
Great shot and keepsake................I recognized your son right away from your previous photos!
January 13th, 2015
Great shot-he will be a basketball super star!!
January 13th, 2015
Clever photo and a keep. Although they are different heights, their colors and smiles match! Cuz certainly is tall for his age, which I presume is 12. Future hoops super star?
January 13th, 2015
My boys next to their cousins cut the same dash. I bet the taller chap goes through clothes and shoes at a rate of knots!!
January 13th, 2015
Woooow! Love this! I imagine he isn't done growing yet either!!
January 13th, 2015
the NBA should be drooling!
January 13th, 2015
wow :) imagine if your son grow so much in a year!
January 17th, 2015
WOW!! I hope the tall boy doesn't grow much more!
