After two10 hour tour days in St. Petersburg our next stop on the cruise ship was Helsinki, Finland. We decided to get a hop on/off bus from the cruise port and see the sights of the city on our own pace. Our first stop of this beautiful little church called Kamppi Chapel. It's simple wooden outside was strikingly beautiful and its inside silent and welcoming! That's my 6'1" husband posing infront of it.
You weren't allowed to take photos inside and I respected that so here's a link about the place and a few more images so you can get a sense of what the inside was like:
Oh my. I immediately thought of a ship’s hull. A spectacular building. Your husband certainly gives the image scale. The interior is so stark, but in a good way. Quite the talented architect!
Interesting architecture realization, I had never heard of it. Great composition with the green tree in the front and your husband to provide the human scale
It is a very intersting structure. I wouldn't have guessed it was a church. It is very tall and seems strange to have no doors are windows showing. I thought I was looking at the hull of a boat. The wood is beautiful.
I couldn't help but think "ark", and I see several others shared a similar thought. Your husband is no short guy, which proves this structure's a tall one!
