One beautiful place I found whist out geocaching, Hen Wood was on the main stagecoach route between Cirencester and Gloucester, high up above the Sapperton Canal tunnel. I would imaging highwaymen were always a danger here as the horses slowed to climb the hill. Note the old milestone center right on the bank. Today it's very rough and rutted, but so peaceful.
