I only wanted some teabags and knew that going to my nearby supermarket on the last Saturday before Christmas would be hell. Shall I wear shin guards, elbow guards and a crash helmet as I battled my way among the shoppers, fighting for that box of tea bags.
Firstly, I have a blue badge for disabled parking and had to queue and wait for one of those spacing to become available. Grabbing a trolley i found the entrance narrowed by the Wotton Silver Band playing "Hark the Herald Angles Sing", I'll give them HARK, all I wanted was some tea bags.
I headed for the coffee and tea isle but was sidetracked several times, delicatessens, bakery, tinned fruit and other wonderful items - hang on I only wanted my teabags. I raced for a checkout that looked nearly empty, knocking old and young out of the way with my trolley. Just my luck the lady on the checkout wanted to talk all about Christmas and handed me several bags for my purchases, incredible what you can buy when you just go in for teabags.
I got back to my car and unloaded all my goods and decided I needed something for my 365 today, right I thought, lets take this band blowing their own trumpets. At last I got home exhausted and guess what I forgot to get -------------- no your wrong, it was polish as I've now put the large box of teabags in the cupboard. Enjoy, but please view with the dark background while I have a cup of tea.
A nice Christmassy shot - despite your less than Christmassy mood ;-)
. . .which matches mine. Let's join elbows and plough through the Santa-faced well-wishers to our %%(*& teabags!
Brilliant both shot and narrative;
I am one of those people you hate, always organised and I love going out this weekend just watching people panic and buy and push and shove. I think it is called being smug:0) Hope you enjoyed your tea, it is a lovely shot
Glad you didn't forget your tea bags. I hate going into the store for one last forgotten item. Today was quiet in our grocery store as I think everyone was at the mall. I feel sorry for the kids and their horns as people scurry by not noticing them
Ahhhhhhhahahahahahaha!! You sound so much like me, except I don't have a trollie, but I'm just as bad with my buggy/cart. This is a great capture of the little band playing their hearts out!!! Hark, Hark!
I went into a store with my Mom ONCE when she rode one of the trollies. You know the noise they make when you back them up? My mom's didn't work, so she would yell really loud when she had to back up "BEEP, BEEP, BEEEEEP"!!! Oh good Lord!! Plus she couldn't drive and would run into shelves and people...so I told her I would just push her around in her wheel chair!!! FAV!!!
