I was listening to the weather forecast this morning on the TV and they said that there was a large trough moving in from the west. At first I thought it's typical of the weather what those Americans send across the Atlantic to us.
I then had a second thought, we don't need a large trough as we already had one, so I went out this morning to photograph it as proof.
This one stands right beside a very busy roundabout and I had to take my life in my hands to get a picture. Surprisingly this place is called the Horse Trough Roundabout and the item has stood here since 1914. Of course when it was first placed here it was for horses and dogs and was presented by the people of Stonehouse, the town just along the road. It's lovely that it always has a wonderful display of flowers these days.
I suppose those Americans will be sending over there snow next, we don't want it, honest.
A very interesting capture and, as always, I loved the commentary. But are you sure I can't send you some ice and snow that we are expecting tomorrow night? I don't want you to think I'm being selfish!
@fjmom@congaree@dizzyd Thank you for your comments and FAV as usual I do like to read them.
@linnypinny I can I tell you where you can put your ice and snow, better not it wouldn't be lady like. I'm Mrs Grumpy as for the third day running the heating and hot water is not working properly. The third Engineer has told me I need a new water loop in the boiler - I told them that 3 days ago. And of course he didn't have one on the van, so different Engineer No. 4 is coming tomorrow.
I do like these street horse troughs in our towns and villages. I suppose they were the service stations of the past...but not and imported american idea!
