Like a Fish out of Water. by ladymagpie

Like a Fish out of Water.

Thought it was about time I connected a picture and a phrase together and today it's the saying, "They look like a fish out of water". The best description is it's someone who is in a situation they are unsuited to.

An example would be a coal miner trying to do ballet, or a steeplejack working with embroidery, you could also say that it's me trying to do housework (Cough), thankfully I have girls that come and take care of that.

Back to my capture and this sculpture of a fish on the roadside, definitely is a fish out of water and by the look of it, it's not had a swim for some time. In front you will notice that the soil has been dug up and there were two workman using a rotavator to plough up all the grass. Talking to them they were going to sow wildflower seed all over here. I look forward to seeing them when they come up, fish with a hint of dill or wild garlic perhaps.

View with the black background if you have time.
I saw it backwards, and thought it looked like an alligator on a block! (see the snout and the eye?) I like the fish better.

Nicely spotted and captured. I particularly like the visual that popped into my head regarding the miner ballerina. My lunchtime laugh.

That fish has seen some weathering! The wildflowers there should be really pretty!

Great catch - and you didn't need a fishing line! Looking forward to dill and garlic flowers around it :)
