It's still a gloomy day and continuing to spot with rain. It's no good I had to get out so decided to visit one of my own geocaches to perform some maintenance, the log sheet needed replacing and the container had to be dried out.
It's down at my favourite spot on the Stroudwater canal and today the water birds were in abundance. As I walked back along the towpath I spotted my first Heron stood among the reeds, in my excitement It almost caused me to miss the capture, and in fact I had just the one chance before it flew away across the fields.
It is very large and beautiful and made my day down by the canal-side, who needs ducks, swans etc . View with the dark background.
Thank you for your comments and FAV's on my local shop, some people on Facebook weren't impressed, well raspberries to them.
You mean the people on FB told you so?? I'm surprised - FB doesn't give free rein to bad comments, neither does 365. Its more about support and encouragement! Good for you getting such a great picture of this heron!
