I've gone flowery today with these pretty petunias in a milk churn that has been painted green and pictures of colourful flowers on it. These are not ordinary petunias but what they call double petunias with the name "Priscilla". Again a lovely display next to my friends log shed. View with the dark surround.
Just to catch up on yesterday's starling fight, I've just spent half an hour adding more mesh protection to that feeder. It looks like that I might have won this battle, but I've thought that before. One amusing episode has just happened, the starlings were going berserk trying to reach the food whilst a little sparrow hopped into the side, helped itself before hopping out the other side.
I don't think one ever wins against nature! You just might have stopped them temporarily! I have a black milk churn and this is such a good idea! Can't wait to get home from travelling and set it up!
Such a pretty use of the milk churn. We have two big ones remnants of our milking days when we used to take the milk in churns to the end of the road. Those starlings have you worried but the other birds seem to be unconcerned!
