The weather is shocking here in the Cotswolds today, it fact I was wondering if Noah was going to build an ark again. At least the ducks on the canal are happy. So here is a capture I took a few days ago.
Opposite the local church I spotted these steps going up to a house above. They were in a terrible condition with weeds, stinging nettles and ivy all over them.
What a danger I thought, especially when taking the shopping up to the house and even worse with furniture. To me it was, "One Step to Far" which is also a song by Dido in the 1990's, not that I know it.
I really think I would remove all the greenery and mend the steps and handrails. Perhaps not as this is actually a back gate to the house and around the corner is a neat driveway and gate. Perhaps burglar's would think twice of carrying item from here.
On a naughty note I thought that Dido was a naughty word but looking it up it means, a mischievous trick or prank. Bet you are all trying to work out the naughty word that came into my head, you're need an L of a guess.
I always wonder what the story is when I see something like this.... what did it look like when the steps were first built? Who built it? Why was it left to overgrow? This just provokes so many questions.
I’m ashamed to say I knew straight away what the dirty word was, that says a lot about my mind 😂😂.
