I went back to one of those beautiful rivers again today, not just for the photograph but to find a geocache near this bridge. I've call it a bridge but I don't think it's an official one as there were not safety precautions on it what so ever.
It didn't seem to be fixed down securely, and there were no handrails whatsoever. The walking surface seemed to be made up of various plates that were buckled in places. I decided it wasn't made for this wobbly old pensioner.
It was a very cleverly hidden cache, but I found it and logged it when I got home, number 920 found in a 25 mile radius of my home. I usually do quite a few in a year but this was my first this year due to the Covid restrictions.
I decided to walk a bit further along the track before returning to my home, but then I suddenly stopped in my tracks. I could see about half a mile in front of me with hedgerows each side, and realised it was dead quiet and lonely, not another soul in sight.
There had been a few reports of attacks along a nearby canal path and I started to think, what the hell am I doing here all on my own. Brain kicked in and I walked back to my car, thankfully all safe and secure.
A wonderful spring scene with all its greens and dappled pattern of sunshine and shadows - I would certainly give that rickety bridge a miss ! Wise move to turn back to the car ! Stay safe Heather !!
Very pretty scene of the river.
Glad you are home safe and sound.
A dodgy looking bridge but very photogenic!
