This is one of my favourite places to go to not far from home, best on a warm day with no wind blowing up the valley. It's also near the lone tree which I pictured the other day. My big Brother and his wife often walk his dog here as do many people with great parking and picnic area.
You can see right down to the Severn Bridges and onto South Wales if looking south and northwards to the Malvern Hills. It is of course a topographic point, with a map and direction arrows on top of the metal plate.
It also holds the clues to a wonderful geocache where you have to calculate a final hiding place nearby. The main thing is the wonderful views on a lovely day.
What an amazing view ! The barrel shaped structure is quite unusual and standing there you must feel as if you are looking down from a great view point onto the whole of creation !
My word Heather you have been climbing high today! What a super view…..it’s ok I can tell by the leaves on the trees you haven’t climbed that today. Nice story & history.
