So what's on tele today then boys

My biggest bugbear is the starling that floods my bird feeders and I have tried every trick under the sun to stop them, without success. I covered one seed tray with a wok lid; they found a way of flying up and under it. I've spent hours rushing to my porch window only inches from the feeders to frighten them, all the little birds fly away in fright, whilst the starling just stare at me with a grin in their beaks.

I don't mind one or even two visiting at once, it's when they arrive in flocks of 12 and above and eat everything unless I chase them off. They then sit on the roofs opposite waiting for me to go back indoors, they are not stupid.

Here they are just waiting, and I can imagine their conversation.

"Hey George, that's that stupid women that puts food out for us and then chases us away".

"She will be gone in a moment and we can clear another container, in the mean time while we are sat here, what’s on TV tonight, oh I hope it's that great Alfred Hitchcock film The Birds, I get all my ideas from that".

I must admit they are quite colourful birds really and they make for a good capture on the TV aerials.

Keep smiling.
Hahaaaa... great narrative as usual. The photo is great, especially when viewed in dark mode

Oh Heather ! they are very determined where food is concerned ! and always descend in flocks !!!!!! They can look very pretty though when the sun shines on their iridescent speckled feathers ! Lovely shot of the crew !

When we first moved to this bungalow in 2020 before we did it up we bought a ground feeder. Worst thing we 3ver did as we had massive flocks if starlings coming every morning then again late afternoon. We moved out fir six months & never fed the birds. We are now feeding then again but all above ground. The starlings still come but only a few at a time so we can manage that. We have crows & pigeons too….all the big birds we sort of aren’t keen on but they are still birds I suppose!

I love your title and narrative 😂🤣. I like starlings but we rarely get them in our garden. If I give you my address will you pass it on to your starlings please? Tell them they’ll be welcome and there’s plenty of food 😂😂🤣🤣.
