These are 50 litre 'bonbonnes' and they contain a sweet local dessert wine called Banyuls. The wine is put into the containers and left in the sun for a minimum of three years, to speed the ageing process. This traditional method, according to a sign in the winery, "gives the wine a hint of mahogany, and an aroma of dried fruits (figs, grilled almonds, prune brandy) and coffee."
This is interesting; the complex mixture of organics in this stuff after three years might produce a considerable hangover if you could get over the aroma of dried figs!
Great selfie too.
cool shot, the pattern of the repetition of the bottles is really intereting and that they form a leading line all the way back to the tree...and then add the selfie! Cool
I love everything about this - it's original composition, pleasing shapes and interesting subject matter and explanation. The reflections are an added bonus - very sensual shot, makes me want to taste the wine. Fav.
Great selfie too.
