I have read Richard and Margo Sayer mention these Local government meetings. What a great idea making politics transparent on a local level anyway. How are you guys liking Macron?
@jack4john There is much more involvement in local governance here in France compared to the UK. Our mayor and the municipal council are independent of the political parties, apart from one communist. They were elected before Macron emerged, but I suspect they approve. Most are former state functionaries, police and gendarmes and they are strong on Republican values. I agree that these meetings are a great idea, Today the mayor even introduced the childrens' council and described the project (a garden) that they voted through.
