Place de la République, Laroque-des-Albères - a tribute to Robert Doisneau.

Robert Doisneau is one of my favourite photographers. His most famous photo is the Le Baiser de l'hôtel de ville. Last year I discovered that he took holidays in my village, Laroque. There are two of the photos he took here on the Getty Images site. One is of a dance on Bastille Day 1958, taking place in the Place de la République. On my way to my French conversation class this morning, I realised I was walking past the point where he had taken that picture, on the remparts of the castle. With no camera on me, I took this with my iPhone.
