The Fruit of the Dead by laroque

The Fruit of the Dead

The pomegranate's name in Greek mythology, apparently, because it was supposed to have originated from the blood of Adonis. These originated from a tree in my garden. We have two, ornamental varieties chosen for their flower color. One tree produces quite a lot of fruit, but because it is out of sight in a distant corner I usually forget to pick them and the birds have a feast. This year I saved a few, these included.

Now, if I were to enter this into the current "You are what you eat" competition https://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/45691/bld6-food-photography-challenge-you-are-what-you-eat then you might think I was a bit seedy.

Marvelous capture! One of my favorites when we can get them. =)

A nice photo. I'm told you need at least two pomegranate tries to get fruit from on of them.

I'm not a huge fan of this fruit (although I do like the fragrance!) but I am a fan of this picture. fav

@mbrutus Interesting, I've just been out to look at the 2nd tree and it has no pomegranates at all, so what you were told may well be correct.
