I hope 2019 has ended with peace and felicity. May the new year start for you with hope and joy.
Thanks for the great photos you all share, they make my days brighter.
I spent the night of New Year's Eve concerned about the stray cats (and all other animals outside). The fireworks made hellish noise for hours, not only in the Silvester night. There are some rules in Germany about fireworks, but many people don't care about.
I'm so happy and grateful that "my" strays are well – meanwhile they are all back :)
Happy new year! I have never seen a stray cat in Germany! I thought they don't exist, as everything seems to be so well "taken care of", including the animals. Happy new year!
@vera365 Dear Vera, many thanks for your visit and your kind comment! I wish you all the best for the New Year, too.
In Germany, there are more than 2.000.000 stray cats :'(
I live in a city, and around my house I count five of them (there are probably more which I don't see). Most of them are very shy and have a hard life, especially in winter.
Meanwhile some cities and communities decree, that all house cats, which are allowed to go outside, must be neutered and microchipped. This helps solving the problem.
I caught some strays for neutering. The last one was neutered by the local shelter's vet (a great help for me, because this time I didn't have to pay for it).
You see him on the photo above, I called him Joshua :)
Best wishes
Happy New Year to you and your furry friends! Katniss and Sophie were jumpy and unhappy about the fireworks going off at midnight in our neighborhood. Fav
@gardenfolk Thank you, my best wishes to you and your beloved ones, too. I know what you mean... many animals have such a good hearing, it must be nearly unbearable and scary for them. Glad it's over now :)
