I had to use my flash for this and the light from the flash at the top is really bothering me.
I am really looking forward to my days off of work, so I can spend a bit more time taking pictures. I also would like to spend some time learning Elements. Right now I still find it a bit intimidating.
That's very nice! I don't mind the look of the flash trigger at all! Once you learn the concept of layers, Elements will be no problem. Let me know if you have anything you need help learning! :)
@cynak haha Cindy I think it maybe your endorphins from today that are making the look of the flash seem okay :P
but really yes the whole layers thing seems so over my head! how did you learn, just by playing around? or any good resources?
@laurentye That's so funny! Maybe! I'll have to look at it tomorrow. haha! Yes, layers....trial and error. I self teach myself the different programs but there are a lot of tutorials online. I use CS3 but also have Elements. :)
No need for a title, this is pretty cool. I have Elements too and find it a bit daunting. I ended up buying a book to help walk me through various steps.
I use elements as my primary editing tool, there are many excellent free tutorials available on the Internet for learning all aspects of the software including layers
thank you guys for your nice comments! @sabresun you are close, it's not the stem of a wine glass, it's a shot taken from above the glass @ukcam after I posted this picture I realized it would have been better cropped too! thanks for the feedback!
TBH Lauren at 1st I didn't get this then viewed large & well now I do..... AAU. I think the flash makes it less harsh & breaks up the background & from me who likes to crop close I think this looks good as it is because it draws you into the shot :-)

yeah i think on a day off i will spend some time poking around the internet to learn
