I bought some fantastic new running shoes and I absolutely love them. Actually they are exactly the same as the old green ones in the background. I bought those green ones a year ago when I decided I wanted to start running.
Now I sort of feel a tiny bit sad about replacing them because I'm oddly sentimental about things like this! But, a year is too long to keep a pair, I can tell it's losing the cushioning.
*Note: I almost lost my wedding ring while taking this picture. My heart stopped. I thought it might have went between the wooden boards here, but luckily found it a few feet away.
They look very comfortable. You'll have to reassure the old running shoes that the new ones have a long way to go (pun intended) before they measure up.
Most importantly Lauren I'm glad you found the wedding ring :-) The new shoes look good I used to replace with the same make & modle when I used to run a lot so I know how you feel on this one. Oh & the shot - nearly forgot - although it's a fun shot I like the texture of the wood v the fabrics the use of DOF& the lines of the wood edges leading to the "old faithfuls" which i think is good composition
You did the right thing! Gotta replace those running shoes - sadly they don't last forever. I'm sure you will come to love the new ones just as much :)
Your body will appreciate your new shoes. :) Not good when the padding goes. Make sure you wear those extra fast socks. LOL! Nice pic!! Glad you had no ring problems. :)
@sabresun lol well right now my shoes are sitting side by side in my entranceway, hopefully getting to know eachother, so no hard feelings between them :)
@spthorne thanks Simon! I was so relieved to find my rings. Found the engagement ring right away, but when I couldn't find the wedding band I panicked! they flew off my finger when I was brushing cat fur off my pants, lol. My ring fingers got smaller, i guess, so now put them on my middle finger, lol
@cynak it's true Cindy, my knees were starting to have an achy feeling so I knew it was time. I was actually eyeing the special socks at the store and thought about getting them, but instead bought these new pants (that attract cat fur, lol)!
@laurentye Ohhhh, good move with the shoes! Sore knees are no fun. I tried to run a little yesterday and my knees were not happy. Gotta give them a little more time I think. New pants are always nice! Now you just need to keep a roll of tape around for the cat fur! LOL!
@fallingwaters thanks Don, I knew this would eventually have to happen, lol. I think i will love them, they make me feel like I'm wearing fluffly pillows on my feet, they are so comfy!
oh my gawsh! that would have been SO terrible if your ring fell through somewhere!! so glad u found it!! those new shoes look SO comfy!!! i am alot like you and feel so sentimental about things....my husband bugs me all the time about that. haha. If it werent for him tho, i am sure i would still have a few things still kicking around that should be in the dump! haha. this is a great shot, i love that your showing the old as well as your new ones :D
@kdimagery thanks Kd yes they ARE so comfy. oh I am sure i have many things that should be in the dump, lol. my biggest offence in sentimental clutter is keeping books that I will never in my life read again, lol. my husband bugs me about that too, lol

I have just signed up for a 10,000 steps a day challenge thing though so will probably be investing in some new trainers soon.
@ukcam 10, 000 staps a day?! wow that sounds like a lot to me. every day? does it have an end date? yes i think you should for sure get some awesome new shoes (and maybe take a picture of them!)
