Horses

I don't Remember if this was taken in Saskatchewan or Alberta, I think probably Saskatchewan.
Not entirely satisfied with the colour in this but I don't feel like editing.

What I was wondering though, is why do horses not jump over the little fences? The fences looked like I could jump over them, so I think the horses could easily do it...
i really like the colors in this shot lauren! i dont think i would have edited this either! the soft natural colors seem to go so well with their colors!!! they dont jump bc they are to lazy. haha. it is true! when they want through a fence, they will just stick their heads through it, like when eating grass on the other side of it, and eventually just push their way through. it always happened on the farm. Our horse would have a WHOLE ENTIRE FIELD of green grass, but for some reason, they would think the grass just on the other side MUST taste better, so they would stick their heads and upper bodies through the barbed wire to eat....then eventually push their way out. hahaha. clever.....kind of :P

@kdimagery your story made me laugh :) i guess it's true the grass is always greener on the other side, even to horses! I just wondered if horses ever run away from home by jumping fences, but I guess they have no reason to if they are happy. i love horses.

@laurentye haha, glad my story made you laugh :D And yes, so "they" say...the grass is always greener on the other side! Even if they do get out, horses RARELY run away from home. they ALWAYS know where home is. i member going for horse rides miles and miles away from home, and as soon as we would turn around somewhere and start to head back, i wouldnt even have to tell my horse/lead him back bc he knew where we were headed....it is quite neat actually. i love horses too! amazing animals! ...........and now i am babbling :P

Neat about the horses not jumping fences.

Perhaps they are similar to gazelles and impalas. At the zoo, the impalas are separated from the visitors by a hedge. No moat, no fence. The impalas could easily jump the hedge, but because they can't see their landing spot, they don't jump.
