I was happy that I was able to get a shot of this little guy while walking in the woods today.
I have a love/hate relationship with butterflys. I love that they all look different and are sort of pretty. But I hate when they try to fly into my face, flapping their crazy wings at me, causing me to yell out in public places.
This one was well behaved.
HAHA Lauren!! your hillarious! You know they dont bite right?! LOL. im kidding. This one looks SO tiny on that green leaf! The lighting and DOF is so pretty!! great shot!
What?! I wish they would come that close and then I wouldn't have to trudge through the bush going after them. Looks like a skipper and found this interesting fact on Wikipedia:
"A skipper or skipper butterfly is a butterfly of the family Hesperiidae. They are named after their quick, darting flight habits. There are more than 3500 recognized species of skippers and they occur worldwide, but with the greatest diversity in the Neotropical regions of Central and South America."
@kdimagery haha well as long as they keep a good distance or stay still I'm okay. and at least i like butterfly's more than dragonfly's - now THOSE are scary too!
@laurentye HAHA! yah! i would much rather have a butterfly hit me then a dragonfly! those things have sticky legs!!!!! If you shreak when a butterfly comes at you, i can only imagine what you do when a bee flies into you!! lol.
Oh how wonderful - so hard to get these guys to be still enough to take it's picture! My husband gets embarrassed whenever a bee flies near me, I lose all composure!
