Dinner delivery service!

Yes, another Osprey! I have been taking so many Osprey photos and I am not nearly done yet! So, bear with me! :-) Osprey chick photos will be forthcoming, too. Just love them and all other birds! :-)
Incredibly wonderful capture. You should be proud!

@rjb71 @rjb71 Thank you! I was using the Sigma 150-600 Contemporary lens...on 600 mm. It is lighter and was less expensive than the Nikon.

@laurieewilson Thanks I won't be getting one this year but the sigma or tamron equivalent are definitely on my shopping list. You certainly get some impressive shots with the sigma :)

@rjb71 Thank you! Fyi, I know a couple people that have Tamron lenses and tell me they are not good for wildlife shots.

Love your wildlife shots. Particularly those of the ospreys. This one is wonderful. I've been trying to figure out what kind of prey it is carrying in its talons. Look like it might be some sort of lizard. I also loved your owl photo from a few days ago. I am curious how you manage to find so many birds nests. The ospreys and the owls. I hear the owls in the trees sometimes. But the only time I have ever photographed one, I didn't even know it at the time. It was hiding in a tree that I was testing out my lens' focus on. Only saw it hiding while I was checking the focus out on my computer monitor. Anyway, this is a fav and I will be happy to follow you in future

@mbrutus Why thank you! I heard from a friend about the Barn Owl nest in Alameda. Not a nest, but we happened to see the Western Screech Owl. As for the Ospreys...there are quite a few in our area, one that is more in the open though still high. We have also found an even better one up in Lake County. Nests and birds have been found by lots of day trips, quick stops...etc. I have a huge love of birds and other animals...and am always glad when I am able to capture them in a photo.

I believe the fish the Osprey has, is a larger Goby. I could not find any other fish with a fin up its spine like that. When there are chicks, it seems the Osprey usually takes the head off prior to taking it to the next. Thank you for the follow!

June 2nd, 2017
@gardenfolk I believe it was a Goby fish....they can live on land or in water. Look appetizing? Lol. They are not an especially attractive fish! :-)
