My son and I went to the Provincetown Art Association and Museum today to see the Robert Rindler exhibit. Rindler is an installation artist among other mediums and for this exhibit he created some stunning pieces using pieced of plastic he has collected over the years from the transfer stations on the Outer Cape. In the foreground is "Land Fill Scaped," which consists of nine color plots 60 inches by 96 inches each separated by color. Hanging from the ceiling behind that is "Jetsam Jellyfish," which consist of round assemblages of salvaged plastic wrapped in fishing line and hung by a fishing hook and beyond that is "A Grove of Potted, Pruned and Animated Saplings" that look like trees made out of plastic bowls. At the back is "Found Boys," a giant collection of male plastic toys glued in a cool pattern to a plywood base. Sorry, Tommy, that our photos are so similar, but this was my best one too. Fun day!
Well, he does wash it! Thank you so much for all your comments. This was such a fun afternoon with my son and he proclaimed it "the best exhibit I've ever seen." We decided to become members of the museum so we can go see every exhibit for free.
This is awesome!
