Taking Time to Smell the Roses by lauriehiggins

Taking Time to Smell the Roses

This photo literally chose me. I had two big deadlines, so I woke up, put the coffee on, and ran to the mailbox to get the newspaper to read the headlines over my morning coffee. Just before I reached the mailbox, a branch from a rose bush reached out and grabbed me and ripped the pants of my favorite new flannel PJ's.

When I looked down to see what I was caught on, I saw this spray of late blooming roses. Honestly, I never would have noticed them if that branch hadn't snagged me and forced me to take time to notice and photograph the flowers.

From snow to roses...
Such a pretty pink with gorgeous morning light! Shame about your jammies though!

I had to fave this, the clarity and color is amazing. I also like how the faded flower behind it makes it look like a reflection.

don't know why I found this amusing as I felt very sad for your PJ's! Beautiful flowers! Hope you achieve your deadlines today!!! x
