Making Music

Most days when my son gets home from school and again after dinner, he picks up his guitar and plays for a while. I took this the other night and then took a bunch more shots tonight and this was still my favorite.

Here's what he was playing: http://youtu.be/8UE5NV-UoGM
Really great composition. It almost looks like we are seeing from the musician's eyes. Nicely done.

I love this! The focus is fantastic, and this is a perfect shot for the theme!

@melissapike I thought of you when I took this, Melissa. Not only because you are a musician, but because you challenged me to get out of my comfort zone. So this was a study in low light with the 50 mm, and I discovered I really like to photograph hands.

awesome theme shot, nice perspective, priceless to be able to hear him play every night.

Wonderful shot, Laurie. I love the depth of field and the Chili Peppers are a favorite in our house. Wish one of us knew the guitar!

@robinwarner He's still pretty sick and I've decided he shouldn't go on his ski trip tomorrow. He didn't even argue (not that he ever does), but still.

Very nice composition! I hope that he feels better soon! It's too warm to ski this weekend anyway, right? ;-)

He's a sweet kid! I love it that he has this interest.

How cool to be able to listen to that! I really like this photo too, perfect lighting and composition. Every day when my girls come home from school, I listen to them go cuckoo in the other room while doing their homework, lol. I guess 6 hours of being quiet and good takes it's toll...

Awesome perspective and focus!
