This is really nice. I am Catholic but more like recovering. I still feel very moved by certain spiritual things, though, and it's a nice reminder to just be grateful for all that I have.
I like this Laurie, it's focus is on the action of the heart, prayer. When people ask me if I am Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, I usually like to respond, none of the above. Just think of me as "Relational" for I believe my relationship with my Creator is far more importnt than the church I belong to. If my heart is right and I am focused on Him, I can enjoy and worship my Creator no matter what church I am in. Sometimes I dislike the walls that are created by the church.
@digitalrn Your words really touched me and I completely agree with your sentiments. I've been searching for a statue to photograph for a long time because I wanted to practice some editing things. I took several photos of Mary's face and edited one that I really liked five different ways. But I kept coming back to this photo of her hands in prayer, which is both the heart of the action and the action of the heart.
@jenrobcarr You make me laugh every day! Steve won the first game and I won the second, so we are still in a dead heat tie. I did not have the opportunity to write bokeh and make 50 points on a triple tile, but I will continue to try next Friday!
Great cropping and this is a beautiful statue. I love the way sculptors can make stone look fluid. The ruffle of her veil and the softness of her hands and your words. All of it very moving.
beautiful light and shadows on this, Laurie. Its so funny because I nearly posted a hand shot today. Missing you - hope you're well. gonna go back and see what I've missed. But soon. xox
Beautiful!
