I picked up my camera from the repair shop this afternoon and was so excited to take photos that I headed to Linnell Landing Beach, then Rock Harbor and finally Point of Rocks beach. I spent over an hour taking photos...and then when I went to upload tonight, I realized I forgot to put the memory card back in. Sigh...
So I decided to post a funny filler, because you can either laugh or cry. I'd rather laugh. This is Buttercup, one of our chickens. At least I had some wonderful beach walks and those sights will live in my memories.
That IS SOOOOO frustrating. Doesn't your camera display say "no memory card" or whatever when you try to shoot? Mine does. But I think you can set it so it won't say that. I love this quizzical, curious poultry pal! He is adorable and yes, w henever I get mad at not getting a photo, for whatever reason, I tell myself to just enjoy it in real life...t hat is more than good enough!
Me too bc i had it where you could and didnt realize it didnt have internal memory to store it. Lost some great train shots over that. So I changed my canon 60D to not engage either.
@sheg I don't visit the forums very often, and I rarely comment when I do. But when I saw your comment about how the newbies might want to avoid them, I had to comment. Don't go there. This is a wonderful place to be if you avoid all the crazy stuff.
This is such a great shot! Love it! Great composition and dof! Fav! Sorry about your memory card issue. As others have said, my camera lets me know right away if there isn't a memory card. But i have been out to take shots and realized I didn't have the card; very frustrating!
buttercup looks curious! very cute shot! i've forgotten my card more times than I care to remember. i've slipped extra cards here and there as fall-back positions. glad you got your camera back ok, that part of the story is good. and it's good too, that you enjoyed the beach.
LOL! OMG Laurie, I've done that more than I'd like to admit. I laugh because I can totally relate and I feel your pain. Glad you have your camera back now!

Glad you can laugh at the end of the day, even though you're frustrated. I've done that before about the SD card and it's not fun. Cute photo of Buttercup, though. She looks sweet.
LOL - sorry to laught, read your comments and saw the shot - I did the same thing the other day! it's highly frustrating huh? but this shot came out really well - like he's saying..."really? I get pride of place??, nah you're kidding me?"
awesome chicken with attitude shot! I have done the same, only to get somewhere and find I do not have my card, my camera won't take pics without the card tho. . . a learning experience? :)
