My sweet little Skylar is back. Those who know me here, know just how much it means to me to have my granddaughter back home for at least a month. I took 70 photos of her today, and this was her favorite.
Honestly, this was a hard photo to interpret. I have plenty of smiling photos and I almost posted her second favorite. But I feel pretty strongly that kids should have a say in how they are represented. Sky left California last night at 7 p.m. last night and arrived in Boston at about 7 a.m. today. She only got about 4 hours sleep total. So maybe this just captured how she felt better than the smiley photos.
@lorihiro Oh Lori, I've already given her a million kisses. She wanted to touch all of her favorite things - little Sadie Beans (who whimpered and kissed her face for a full 5 minutes), her old toybox, my jewelry box, snacks with me reading books, all the berry bushes in our yard, the chicken coop, and then her dresser at my house (where she found her favorite owl PJ's and put them right on, even though they are winter PJ's) and more reading before bed. And she even let me take lots of photos, which she used to hate. I'm in heaven. I love that little girl so, so much.

She is beautiful! Great choice... My daughter will go visit my parents in a couple of weeks and will stay with them for more then a month... we havn't met since last year... My mother and father are counting seconds for the moment to come! Have a great time with her!
Well I think the choice is great, and I love the freckles too. She has such a beautiful look about her, and it is always nice to have the grandbabies around you. Enjoy your time together
Freckles are awesome. She's been kissed by angels many times I can see. Your small Dof is fabulous for this giving that nice soft focus around her. Very nice portrait.
Oh you lucky lucky person. My granddaughter Pepper was supposed to come and spend 2 or 3 weeks with me, but now she isn't. I know just how you feel. Being a grandmother is the best job ever. I love Skylar's lips and freckles. She's beautiful. FAV!
