Aside from all the people, the one thing I missed the most about 365 was the way I forget to search for simply beauty every day when I wasn't posting. Today was a long work day and then Steve and I headed to our plot at the Community Garden to weed.
We are growing a whole bunch of tomatoes and peppers that aren't very photogenic, but our neighbor has gorgeous zinnias for me to enjoy as I work. That is the beauty of a Community Garden. You get to enjoy the fruits of other's labors as well as your own.
Stunning contrast with the pinks and greens Laurie - I passed a community garden on the train yesterday and thought how overflowing with all kinds of goodies it was!
I can see why you love your community gardens! I've gotten most of my recent photos from the community gardens at my father's retirement community. I've never taken photos of his garden - just tomatoes and squash (Ha ha), but I do "borrow" his neighbors flowers as subjects! The pink in this zinnia is beautiful - love the little bits of yellow in the center.
Community gardens are very cool. There is a very large one around the corner from my son's apartment up in Santa Cruz. So many diverse plots of land in that small spot.
Your photo today makes me happy. Zinnia's are so old fashioned and I always planted seeds when I was younger. They are easy, very prolific, and pickable. Love you!
