An Australian White Ibis, a Great White Egret and a Brolga walked into a lake
My road trip is not quite over yet, just the South Australia leg, today saw me in Ocean Grove.
This was taken at Lake Connewarre. Today @jenrobcarr and I had a mini 365 meet-up, the top of my wish list was to see brolgas, and to my delight we saw them. She was wonderful driving me all over the Bellarine Peninsula and to many places familiar to me through her 365 project. Later in the afternoon we saw rare Blue-billed ducks - he had a beautiful sky blue bill - wonderful afternoon - thanks so much.
We actually saw three (briefly) - a family group, mum, dad and baby - wonderful, I was too busy appreciating the distant sight to take a photo. Quickly lost sight of one adult and the baby, but the other, I like to think it was dad, stayed around for a little while, before heading off into the distance where we could not follow.
Gorgeous shot, i saw a white heron fly over my car today whilst driving down a main road, as it came towards me i was thinking "wow this is a big seagull!" We have alot of lakes around where we live and i've never seen it there, bit strange to see it out around the roads i thought.
@shantwin I'm with you - I was waiting for the punchline too!
Great shot, Megan - and I like that the lake/view is in the middle of the grasses, seems an entirely natural view - though naturally I've never seen anything like it!
