Roadworks by leggzy

Roadworks

But as you can see, not much happening (which is usually the norm here in Oz!). On the way to visiting my parents, sat there for probably 5 minutes until the light changed green....no other cars around & as I said previously, not much happening with the actual road works, so not sure why I had the red light for so long.
Haha, yep, a busy day indeed! & with the prediction of temps in the 40s the workmen have all gone home. (Not that I blame them)

I like this picture because of the contrast between the lovely natural setting and the horrible pointless traffic light.

I bet there was the obligatory "slow down to 40kph" sign as well. haha.

Ha ha, love it, only in Australia.

Wonderful capture. So unusual for us 'non-Australians'!

Haha - may have been tempted to ignore it! 🙊

Nice pov, love the simplicity :)

So typical :) We encountered the same thing yesterday!

At least your enforced stop, provided you with a photo op :)

Oh that takes me back! I once was stuck on a contraflow like this on the road from Alice Springs to Uluru and we were there a full five minutes before it changed and yet no-one was working and nothing came down the road the other way in the meantime! So blissfully Australian, I love this!

With no workmen there or cones lining the verge or holes in the road, the traffic lights looks so out of place. Must be maddening waiting for the light to turn green 😱😱

There was probably an 'off' switch somewhere on that box leggzy. We have similar temporary lights over here too. I've ignored a few red ones if there's no danger. There's a challenge for you leggzy - drive through it on red next time.

You just never know if temporary traffic lights are working! Such lovely rich colours - reds, blues and greens.
