Old Brundah Creek Methodist Church by leggzy

Old Brundah Creek Methodist Church

Originally built in 1887 at Brundah Creek as a Methodist church, but was then moved to its current site in 1916 - a distance of about 4km, being 18km east of Grenfell on the Cowra Road, and came under the banner of the Uniting Church. It's no longer in use, having closed for regular services in 1969. It is known to locals as "The Blue Church".

I have photographed it many times before, one being shared on my project back in March last year - http://365project.org/leggzy/365/2016-03-18
Rather amazed at this. You would have thought the Methodists would be almost the last people to paint a church baby blue. Like your composition of this.

Like your previous post on this church but prefer this one. I like the sign in front. Pulls the forgoing closest to the church somehow. Birth lovely though and it's a beautiful church 😊

Nice shot - the board and door colours look so strong against the blue!

Lovely little church. Sad that it isn't used any more.

Great shot of this little blue church. I like the inclusion of the information panel.

I love the colour of this little church. Is it being used for anything else?

It is a very photogenic church. Sad it is no longer in use, but it looks well maintained - is it used for anything else?

You have found some nice churches lately!! But blue??

@laroque It may have been the Uniting clan who painted it when it was moved. I know that it's been blue for the 25 odd years I've been living in this area.

@merrelyn @megpicatilly No, it's just sitting there on privately owned land. I have seen sheep grazing around it at times, so I guess they are very blessed sheep! :)

That is certainly blue! Was it always blue I wonder? Or was it painted that color when it moved? Good shot!
