Catholic church services were held in Carcoar (a beautiful little historic town) as early as 1847. The building of Church of the Immaculate Conception was commenced in 1868, and completed in 1870 - Designed by Architect, Edward Gell.
This one was a bit difficult to capture. Firstly, there are powerlines going everywhere (one of my pet hates) & it is very difficult to shoot the church without getting the powerlines - ones going to the church & the street lines as well. They were in this shot as well, but I have managed to clone them out (very time consuming!! & I'm not sure if I've done a very good job of it). Secondly, deciding which pov to shoot from - all sides of this church are just gorgeous. The facade to the right, which can't be fully seen in this shot, has such amazing intricate stone work - I may have to share my shot from that pov some time in the future. All in all, a beautiful church that I have admired for many years on my visits to Carcoar :)
