Lift-off

Would like to hear what you think of this shot, I know it's not very sharp, was shooting against the light. I quite like the effect the light has on the wings.
his face is in focus so it is a shot for me. Fav

I'm with Tracie, his face is beautifully focused, so works for me

I love those eyes! This is great ... looks like he's about to fly out of the photo

The eyes are sharp. In my book that's what counts. The light through the wings is beautiful. The wings not being in focus adds to the action. Definitely a fav!

It's an immediate fav for me -- the POV is amazing, and the lighting is very effective.

really sharp on the birds face, great action

I agree with the others. His face is sharp, the overexposed wings plus the softness give it a great sense of movement! Totally different than other shots you usually see. Like he'll come right out if the computer at you! Fabulous!

I like how you see the eyes and face first. They really stand out from the bright background. Instant fav.

I definitely like it.....this is a great capture with that face so much in focus, and staring right back at you! I don't mind the softness of the wings as it conveys motion, and I really like the glow the backlighting provides. I almost wish you could clone out the log, and let him stand on his own as if he is floating....that log grounds him for me, but a FAV regardless for this great capture!

Osia, @panthora I had some time this afternoon and decided to see how the image would work without the log, I posted it on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/leonbuys83/24005086071
