Fifty years ago, I was a nervous, emotional mess, getting ready to walk down the aisle and begin a brand-new road as a wife. I was only 19, you were 20, and neither of us could have known what the next 50 years would bring. There were plenty of people who doubted that two young kids could make it for the long haul. But somehow, through all the ups and downs, the good times and the hard times, we proved the doubters wrong.
Looking back, I realize just how incredibly lucky and blessed we were to find each other so young. We were two kids taking a chance on love, and that chance turned into a lifetime. We grew up together, learned together, laughed together, faced challenges together, and created a life filled with memories that I will treasure forever.
Marriage isn't always easy, and our journey certainly hasn't been perfect. But through every chapter, we chose each other. We've celebrated the wonderful moments, held each other through the difficult ones, and continued to walk hand in hand down this road we started 50 years ago.
Would I do it all over again? ABSOLUTELY! Without hesitation, I would choose you all over again. ❤️
I am so grateful for the life we've shared, the memories we've made, the love we've given and received, and every single year we've been blessed to have together. Fifty years is a milestone I never take for granted. My heart is full when I think about where we started and how far we've come.
So here's to the two 19- and 20-year-olds who took a leap of faith, believed in their love, and somehow turned that first step down the aisle into 50 wonderful years of US.
