Fox and The Hound by lesip

Fox and The Hound

OMGosh what a great birding field trip that turned into watching a fox hunt. There's one way in and out and they're coming straight at us. I felt like Michael Elliott crouching in the middle of the lane with thirty five American Foxhounds coming at me instead of New York City traffic. Plan on posting a few more shots. We actually saw the fox and the dogs trying to locate him. It was amazing...... We were rooting for the fox and he did outsmart 35 dogs. What a great way to say goodbye to February.
great shot..glad to know the fox got away...

detest foxes, but not as much as the people who hunt them with dogs. Fantastic photo tho! And @maggiemae it is banned in England, but it doesn't stop them from doing it (just stepping off my soapbox now!)

My Father and Grandfather were part of the hunt club in South Australia. This does bring back memories. Thanks for sharing.

@jaymarron yes in some places they do, and in other places they pretend that that is what they are doing, but what can the poor huntsmen do if the dogs just happen to get onto the trail of a fox.......................... sorry, probably the wrong place for this discussion.

This really could be in England - not allowed to pursue foxes anymore but can follow a artificial trail in the same way.

Stopped in my tracks by this image. It looks like a cover for UK mag Fox and Hounds. I hate the whole ethos of it but love the spectacle!
