So we slept in till 5am today. LOL Watching the news they were calling for thundershowers in the afternoon so didn't want to drive away from Albuquerque only to end up in rain. Decided we'd do the zoo. With my local zoo being The National Zoo in D.C. and knowing nothings about this zoo, I really didn't expect much. I was so WRONG !!!! What a fabulous zoo. Why?

1. no huge hill to go up and down to see the zoo
2. it has polar bears, none at National Zoo
3. it has giraffes, nada
4. it has rinos , again none at the National Zoo
5. hello hippo's , zilch
6. loads of clear, close views for the camera, some but you really have to work for it at the National Zoo ...
7. ten minutes from our hotel , 45 minute drive if you're lucky from my house.

Zoo map said to allow an hour to see the zoo, heck we spent at least that watching the polar bears play. They had the same WOW factor on me that the balloons did. We both had a great 5 hours at the zoo although I'm sure it was pushing it for Bob.
@laurielizard no, but I got a picture of it. lol We didn't do the other two places you could do which is a good thing 9-2:15 and we were ready to go back to the hotel and put our feet up. So many babies there ....
Great capture!! I saw a dog tied outside the grocery store today that looked like a polar bear, big, white, and fluffy!! Seriously, though, you need to come to San Diego just for the zoo, but stay for the sunsets!! It has giraffes, elephants, lions, tigers, and bears, and so much more!! ;-))
