We finally did the Neon Graveyard Tour in Las Vegas. It's been on my list for years. Margaret bought 3 of her neon wigs so we dressed for the tour. LOL Margaret wore green, Lisa wore red and I wore orange, we had a blast. Maybe I'll stick that shot in my extras album. The guys wore sunglasses. We went in the evening because some of the signs work. You realize how old you are when you can say we stayed there and there and there as you walk through the graveyard and recognize the now gone hotel signs. Maybe one day I'll go back and do one of the photography tours where you can bring your tripod and wander around on our own.
I'd never heard of this and think it's fascinating. If you remember, our Route 66 is basically a red light zone, so now there is talk of moving many of the old neon signs to one location as a museum. I thought it was such an original idea, but now I know it's probably based on Las Vegas.
