Another important part of Island life is the AIr Ambulance service. Unfortunately it is used quite a lot for patients that urgently need a more specialist level of care. Destination is almost always Aberdeen. During the snow of a couple of weeks ago someone who was sledging had to be flown south after breaking leg, hip and damaging ankle ligaments.
