@maggiemae The name is historical in that it is supposed appear at the same time as the cuckoo arrives in the UK. I always knew it by its other name Lady Smock but most people call it Cuckoo Flower. Incidently there was a cuckoo spotted in the village yesterday so I will be looking out for the flower!
