Another none Shetland sight is the Hawthorn in bloom.
They are pretty blossoms and so well composed.

I think its Blackthorn - blooms on bare twigs and is out now, later it will develop sloes. Hawthorn comes later when the leaves are already out. Sorry - its the horticulturalist in me. Never the less a beautiful sight.

@Cherrill thanks for that. 30 plus years ago I would probably have called hawthorn blackthorn and been wrong as where I grew up there was plenty blackthorn and we assumed everything was.
